Double Seal
The Double seal, ensures that there are no air gaps between each panel section. From experience on site Mute Acoustic identified that is very easy to achieve a good testing result in a laboratory condition but once you are on site this is a different situation. The site is never perfect and contractors are operating in difficult situations. The Mute Design compensates and even if the panel is not perfectly fitted, you will still achieve a well-sealed joint ensuring good should reduction
Any air gaps will massively affect the effectiveness of the installation. Many timber installations tested in a laboratory condition may achieve a decent result because the timber is solid but once installed Timber being a natural material to expand contract and gaps will appear in the acoustic wall, all the benefits are lost and you will not achieve a good sound reduction. This is also the same for many plastic panels and the rate of expansion and contraction is over a 2.4m length and can be as much as 20mm, this will result in a loss of sealing between panels and panel to post.
